Dulquer
Salmaan, son of actor Mammootty, has turned a year older today. The
35-year-old, who has worked in Tamil, Telugu
and Hindi language films, took to Twitter to announce his next project. “Thank
you for the lovely surprise you guys. Here’s a poster of my next Telugu project
with Hanu Raghavapudi.  It has been a
great learning experience shooting for this one across India and can’t wait for
you guys to watch it on screen. @SwapnaDuttCh @SwapnaCinema @hanurpudi,” he
wrote.

The
actor had signed to play the lead in Telugu director Hanu Raghavapudi upcoming
directorial. The yet-to-be-titled film will be releasing in Telugu, Malayalam,
and Tamil languages, and the director has divulged that the film is set in
1964.

“He
is tailor-made for the character of Lieutenant Ram. There isn’t anyone else who
would be a better fit for the role and Dulquer’s a great actor too,” the
director told Times of India about casting Dulquer.

The
historic fiction is a love story and also has an army backdrop.

Despite
being a legendary actor’s son, Dulquer debuted in showbiz without much of a
grand launch.

His
first movie was with Srinath Rajendran and he became the next big thing in
southern industry with his second project ‘Ustad Hotel’ and there was no
looking back for Dulquer Salmaan ever since then.

From
working in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi movies and emerging as a
pan-Indian star to carving his own niche in the entertainment industry, Dulquer
Salmaan has come a long way.
