Ewan McGregor has won the Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie goes to Ewan McGregor for “Halston”. Halston is a 2021 American streaming television miniseries based on the life of iconic American fashion designer Roy Halston. The show airs on Netflix.  

In the miniseries, Ewan McGregor plays Halston. This is McGregor’s first Emmy in four nominations. He beat out fellow nominees Hugh Grant, Paul Bettany, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Leslie Odom Jr. 

The miniseries shows the glamorous life and spectacular fall of the American fashion designer. Halston rose to fame on a pillbox hat after Jackie Kennedy wore it in 1961. However, through a series of ups and downs, Roy Halston, who passed away in 1990, is said to have lost the rights to his own name. 

The cast of Halston, the miniseries, includes Ewan McGregor as Halston, Rebecca Dayan as Elsa Peretti, David Pittu as Joe Eula, Krysta Rodriguez as Liza Minneli and Bill Pullman as David J. Mahoney. 

Ewan McGregor is a Scottish actor who has been part of several iconic Hollywood films including Trainspotting and its sequel Trainspotting 2. McGregor played “the ghost” in Roman Polanski’s political thriller “The Ghost Writer”.
