Filmmaker Amole Gupte’s infamous fallout with actor Aamir Khan during the release of their movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’ became the talk of the town. Amole was the original director of the 2007 movie but due to creative differences, Aamir took over the movie as the director, following which, Amole was credited as writer and creative director of the movie. Now, 14 years later, the filmmaker has finally opened up about the fallout.
“Time flies, my friend, and you need not fear because there is always a sunrise after a sunset. It doesn’t daunt me at all. I am genuinely not a person who sits wallowing in anguish. I take the day by its horns, like a bull, and see what the new day has for me. Therefore, I was able to practice my art form, which is cinema. Well, I survived time. It has been 14 years,” he said in an interview with Bollywood Bubble.
Gupte has revealed that industry insiders asked him to not go against a superstar like Aamir.
‘Taare Zameen Par’ revolved around the life of an eight-year-old dyslexic boy and the struggles he has to go through in life. The film won critical acclaim and was also successful at the box office. It went on to win the National Film Award for Best Film on Family Welfare that year.
