A Russian fisherman has retrieved from the depths of the ocean a creature that internet users believe resembles a ‘baby dragon.’

Roman frequently posts images of uncommon fishes he discovers while wandering leagues beneath the water — but one species, in particular, has gone viral.

Roman Fedortsov, 39, was fishing in the Norwegian Sea for cod, haddock, and mackerel when he came across the strange-looking creature.

The fisherman from Murmansk catches a variety of strange-looking sea creatures. But this particular catch caught him off guard because it resembled a ‘newly hatched baby dragon.’

However, the creature’s identity is no longer a mystery. Roman caught a chimaera, also known as a ‘ghost shark.’

Roman shared a photo of the creature on Instagram. The fish appears to be light pink in colour, with massive eyes and a long tail. It also appears to have wings on its side.

The photo has received over 22,000 likes and some interesting comments from Instagram users since it was shared. The photo astounded the majority of users, as expected.

“Holy I didn’t even realize that was a fish,” one user wrote, while another added, “I thought this was the new chicken sandwich to eat at first.”
