Childhood connections
Majority of K-Dramas use childhood connections in their show. The leads of the show had once crossed their paths, they meet again years later only to end up together. Some dramas that have used this cliché are While you were Sleeping, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?, He is Psychometric, and She Was Pretty.

Rich guy, Poor girl
This cliché can be seen in many dramas such as Boys over Flower, The Heirs, She Was Pretty, Memories of Alhambra and many more. These dramas have a rich male lead who falls in love with a poor, hardworking female lead.

Enemies to lovers
In the Korean Drama world, hate means love. If the drama starts off with the leads hating each other, then one thing is obvious that they will definitely fall in love. Dramas that have used this cliché are She Was Pretty, My Love from Another Star, and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.

Wrist Grab
Another overused K-Drama cliché is the wrist grab. This cliché is usually used after an argument. The male lead grabs the female lead’s wrist. Some of the dramas it is used in are Heartstrings, Coffee Prince, The Heirs, and Secret Garden.

Moving in together
Due to some unavoidable circumstances, the leads are forced to live together under one roof. Korean TV shows that have used this cliché are Kill Me Heal Me, Suspicious Partner, Goblin, Oh My Venus and My Roommate is a Gumiho.
