Legendary actor Gina Lollobrigida, one of Hollywood’s last surviving veterans of the golden age of Hollywood, passed away on January 16, 2023, at the age of 95. 

Lollobrigida was one of the most noted actors of the Golden Era of Hollywood, Having films like Lucia di Lammermoor, This Wine of Love, Black Eagle, and When Love Calls. Lollobrigida was one of the last living veterans from that era and was hailed as one of the most beautiful actresses of the time.

Her career heightened in the 1950s and the 1960s, with her securing many lead roles against actors like  Frank Sinatra, Sean Connery, Burt Lancaster, Tony Curtis and Yul Brynner.

Net Worth

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Lollobrigida’s estimated net worth stands at a staggering $45 million. 


Born on July 4, 1927 in Subiaco, Italy, she began her career as a model and participated in several beauty pageants. She went on to secure several small roles in Italian films in her early adulthood, Lucia di Lammermoor,” “This Wine of Love,” “Black Eagle,” and “When Love Calls.”

Her career catapulted to the bigger stage when she starred in the leading role in Mario Costa’s big-screen adaptation of the opera Pagliacci. Following by starring in a string of successful Italian films.

Despite a dispute with Howard Hughes on a contract, which consequently prevented her from doing films in America until 1959, Lollobrigida had a highly prolific career in the decade of the 50s. Her film Bread, Love and Dreams secured her a BAFTA nomination.

Lollobrigida had a successful career in 60s as well with films like “Go Naked in the World” and “Come September.” Her career slowed in the 70s, which prompted her to take up a career as a photojournalist.

Lollobrigida married Slovenian physician Milko Škofič and the two had a child named Andrea. The couple eventually separated in 1971 after which Lollobrigida dated and eventually “married” Spanish businessman Javier Rigau y Rafols. 

The two split up and it eventually led to a legal drama with Lollabridiga accusing Rigau of marrying an imposter. 


Not much is known about her parents except that she was the daughter of a furniture manufacturer and his wife. She had three sisters, Giuliana, Maria, and Fernanda.
