Dulquer Salmaan, an actor, playback singer, and the film producer, has turned a year older today, July 28. Often referred to as ‘Prince of Mollywood’ by his fans, the actor has worked in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films.

In his next, Dulquer got a chance to work with award-winning director Mani Ratnam for the Tamil film O Kadhal Kanmani. The film revolved around a live-in couple. Actress Nithya Menen played the lead opposite Dulquer and the two created the magic onscreen. It was a big hit at the box office and was later remade in Bollywood as “Ok Jaanu”, starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles.

Charlie (2015)

In 2015, Dulquer’s Malayalam film Charlie was a big hit and widely appreciated. The story revolves around a graphic artist (Parvathi) who runs away from her home to escape marriage and is helped by a friend (Dulquer). Mahanati (2018)

In Telugu films, Dulquer debuted with “Mahanati” in which he played superstar Gemini Ganesan. The film, based on the life of yesteryear actress Savitri, was a big challenge for Dulquer who had to play the superstar Ganesan. Dulquer aced the role and the film was a superhit.

Karwaan (2018)

Dulquer stepped into Bollywood with the 2018 release Karwaan that starred Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar. The film didn’t do well at the box office but was well received by the critics.
