Acclaimed Indian designer Swapnil Shinde, who has tasted success in Bollywood costume styling with films like Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Fashion’ and Rahul Bose starrer ‘Fired’, took to his social media to share his new identity as Saisha.

“Here we go 2021#saishashinde (sic), posted Shinde along with a photographer of a new look as a transwoman.

The post got instant love and adulation from some known celebrities including Sunny Leone who wrote, “I love you and I am so proud of you for being the BEST YOU!! The YOU you always wanted to be. Congrats and happy birthday SISTA!!”

Models like Candice Pinto and Diandra Soares too commented on the post with words like “Stunning” and “friggin stunnnnaish (sic)” respectively.

Before this, Saisha posted a long note in which she shared that “Irrespective of your origin, there will always be something that reminds you of your childhood. for me, it takes me back to the kind of loneliness that aches, to pressure that pushed me into solitude and the chaos of confusion that grew every moment.”

“All through schools and college, while the boys outside tormented me because I was different, the internal pain was far worse. I felt suffocated lining a reality that I knew wasn’t mine, yet one that I had to stage every day because of societal expectations and norms. It was only in my early 20s at NIFT where I found the courage to accept my truth: I truly bloomed,” the post further reads.

In the end, she states that “I spent the next few years believing that I was attracted to men because I was a gay but it was only after 6 years ago that I finally accepted to myself, and today that I accept to you. I am not a gay man. I am a Transwoman.”

P.s : Saisha means a meaningful life and I plan to make mine an exceptionally meaningful one, the caption of the post states.
