Rapper Kanye West on Wednesday owned up to the mistakes he made during his marriage and hoped for a reconciliation with Kim Kardashian amid her new romance with Pete Davidson.

West attended the Los Angeles Mission’s Annual Thanksgiving event during which he spoke about his marriage. The rapper admitted that he wasn’t a good husband to Kardashian and that he had made mistakes.

“In all these relationships, we’ve made mistakes. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve publicly done things that were not acceptable as a husband, but right now today, for whatever reason — I didn’t know I was going to be standing right here, I didn’t know I was going to be in front of this mic — but I’m here to change that narrative,” he said.

West went on to say that media houses cannot write “the narrative of his family” and remained hopeful about reconciliation.

“If the enemy can separate Kimye, there’s going to be millions of families that feel like that separation is OK… but when God brings Kimye together, there’s going to be millions of families that are going to be influenced to see that they can overcome the work of the separation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kardashian and SNL star Pete Davidson, who first sparked dating rumours last month, were recently spotted holding hands as they left together following a dinner date in Santa Monica.

A source had told ET that the new couple is “enjoying getting to know each other better and having a lot of fun.”
