K-pop
singer Sowon of South Korea band GFriend has apologised after posting flirty pictures with a
Nazi soldier’s mannequin on her Instagram. The picture, which was taken in November, was widely circulated on social media when GFriend was shooting at a cafe. However, the post was later
deleted by the singer.

According
to CNN, a statement from her company, Source Music, said that she took the pictures down after understanding the
significance of the image.

“We want to apologise for
not being able to check for inappropriate props in the set and not being able
to thoroughly filter them during the shoot and uploading and failing to give
detailed attention to historical facts and linked social issues,” Source Music wrote.

“We bow our head in apology for causing offense
through the video and stills,” they added in their statement,
reported CNN.

While some defended the K-Pop star, some criticised her.

A Twitter user attacked on the
singer’s education and wrote, “Literally
anyone who’s gone through school knows the terrible event that occurred in WWII”.

Another Twitterati defended her by saying that “not everyone learns about Nazi”.

Sowon, the first member of six
member girl group has above 800,000 followers on her Instagram. Their management
company, Source Music was taken over by Big Hit Entertainment in 2019 which
also directs BTS, the K-pop supergroup, reported CNN.
