Opposition party leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadvanis on Friday said that the issue surrounding actor Kangana Ranaut was “blown out of proportion” by the ruling Shiv Sena government. “She (Kangana Ranaut) is not a political leader. You don’t go to demolish Dawood’s home, but you demolished her place,” news agency ANI quoted Fadnavis, as saying.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had demolished ‘illegal’ constructions at Kangana Ranaut’s Mumbai bungalow on Wednesday after issuing a notice to the actor.

Ranaut approached the Bombay High Court against the BMC’s decision. The high court has adjourned the matter for further hearing on September 22.
The 33-year-old actor is currently embroiled in a political controversy with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. The actor’s remark referring to Mumbai as Pakistan occupied Kashmir had triggered a war of words with Shiv Sena national spokesperson Sanjay Raut. Ranaut had also stated that she was afraid of the Mumbai Police. The Shiv Sena has filed an FIR against Kangana Ranaut for her remarks against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
