Longtime real-life partners Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are set to share the screen once again on Netflix’s new holiday film ‘The Christmas Chronicles 2’ as they are reprising their roles of Santa and Mrs Clause respectively.

The film, which is set to release on November 25 on the streaming platform and select theatres, is a sequel to ‘The Christmas Chronicles’, which released in 2018.

Russell and Hawn were lauded for the realistic portrayal of the mythical characters in the first film.

Talking about his take on playing such characters, the 69-year-old actor said in an interview with CBS Network, “You gotta remember, he’s a real human being. He’s not a comic book character. He’s not made up, he’s not drawn up. He was a bishop. He was a man. The question, of course, is through the myth and the legend and whatnot, how is he still around? How is that possible?”

Whether St. Nicholas, a.k.a. Santa is still around or not magically is a mystery of its own, however, the real-life story of Russell and Hawn is the magic in itself.

The two first met on the sets of the 1968 Disney musical, “The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band.”

However, it was after reconnecting on the sets of the 1984 film “Swing Shift” that both got involved in a romantic relationship.

In the four decades since they met, Russell and Hawn have created some extraordinary characters, but each on their own: Two very separate careers under one roof.

Along with the duo, Judah Lewis and Darby Camp will also reprise their roles as the siblings in the new film.
