Hollywood actor Matthew Perry, who plays the role of
Chandler Bing in the show ‘Friends’, has been in news since the show’s reunion episode was telecast on May 27. It was the one where the cast got back together, taking a stroll down memory lane.
From COVID vaccination-themed T shirt to his reunion speech, Perry has lately made headlines. The latest one being over his decision to part ways with fiancé Molly Hurwitz.

The actor, in a statement to People magazine, reportedly
said that things between him and Hurwitz, a literary manager, were not working
out.
“Sometimes things just don’t
work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best”, Perry was quoted as
saying in a statement. The two started seeing each other in 2018, getting
engaged eventually in November, 2020.

Earlier in the week,
makers of ‘Friends’ had slammed fans and critics alike for their remarks surrounding
Perry’s slurred speech during the episode.
“He was great. People can
sometimes just be unkind. I wish they weren’t. I loved working with him”,
director Ben Winston said in an interview to Hollywood Reporter, further noting
that he was happy to be around Perry during the shooting of the episode.

Days before the episode
aired, Perry got entangled in another funny, yet dicey row,
as the actor was seen launching his new COVID-vaccination themed t-shirt on
Twitter.
“Could I BE Any
More Vaccinated? Get your shot and then get your shirt…”, Perry tweeted out on
May 25., which got people talking. With about 1.5 million followers, it did not
take long for the post to get reactions from fans, a large number of whom
considered it insensitive to use the COVID-19 pandemic to sell merchandise.
Apart from this, the actor has, in the past, made admissions about his struggle with addiction. Perry, who has had two rehabilitation stints, in 2016 had said that he did not even remember three years of the show.
“I think the answer is, I don’t remember three years of it. So none of those … Somewhere between season three and six … I was a little out of it”, he was quoted by BBC as saying.
