Miley Cyrus stole the show at an empty Rose Bowl Stadium, grabbing the spotlight of the two-hour long virtual Global Citizen concert on Sunday.

The singer performed Beatles’ “Help” at the show which aimed to fight against the unfair impact of COVID-19 on marginalised communities. The two-hour long concert, titled “Global Goal: Unite for Our Future”, aired on various streaming platforms.

The Global Citizen concert was hosted by Dwyane Johnson and was a part of an online summit which claims to have raised $6.9 billion through pledges from corporations, governments and philanthropists from all across the world. The star-studded show included performances from Coldplay, Jennifer Hudson, Shakira, Usher, and Justin Bieber among others.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Miley said she dedicated this performance to everyone who is fighting the disease in the frontlines.

“For me, the magic of performing is sharing and celebrating music together…being surrounded by people and feeling their energy! During this time of COVID-19, we are coming together in a different way…we are uniting with the goal of ensuring EVERYONE has access to the solutions to end this pandemic.

I dedicated this performance to everyone who is working tirelessly for testing, treatments and vaccines so all of us can come together in places like this empty stadium…. I can’t wait to be together again”, her post read.

Miley was seen standing in the empty stadium, with the word “Help!” was written on the lawn. The venue which accommodates almost 90,000 people was completely empty as the singer performed in the middle of the field.

The concert also had speeches from Hugh Jackman, David Bechham, Chris Rock, Naomi Campbell, Anthony Purowski and more.
