Miss Argentina Mariana Varela and Miss Puerto Rico Fabiola Valentín announced Wednesday that they are married. The duo became pageant queens in 2020.

The couple shared the news on Instagram along with several clips, including a proposal video and a wedding video. The couple got married on October 28.

“After choosing to keep our relationship private, we open our doors to a special day. 28/10/22,” they captioned the post, (translated from Spanish) and added emojis of a heart, a ring, and a star.

The couple’s fans congratulated them on the good news. Abena Akuaba who won Miss Grand International in 2020 also shared a message.

“Omg congratulations MGI brought together a beautiful union,” the beauty queen wrote.

Miss Grand Brazil 2020, Lala Guedes also sent her best wishes, writing: “Congratulations to you. May you be very happy! And what a beautiful couple” (translated from Spanish).

Same sex marriage has been legal in Argentina since 2010, and in Puerto Rico since 2015.

In one of the videos shared by the couple, Mariana Varela and Fabiola Valentín can be seen holidaying together and sharing a sneak peek of their grand marriage proposal. The clip also shows them dressed in white, as they got married in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The duo met at the beauty pageant Miss Grand International 2020 and remained friends till the end of the pageant. Varela represented Argentina in Miss Universe 2019. She also ended up in the top 10 positions at the Miss Grand International 2020. The couple worked together with several modeling agencies.
