Disney will release its live-action adaptation of ‘Mulan’ on Disney Plus on September 4 for $29.99. The company will also release the film in theatres in countries where Disney Plus is not available on the same day.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek said, “We thought it was important to find alternative ways to bring [Mulan] in a timely manner.”  He said that the $29.99 fee will be on top of the $6.99 subscriber fee for the present Disney Plus customers.

Disney had last month delayed the film indefinitely while two of its upcoming releases ‘The New Mutants’ and ‘Black Widow’ remained in their release dates of August 28 and November 6 respectively.

The film follows the announcement by Warner Bros. that Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film ‘Tenet’ will be released in 70 nations on August 28 while the United States will get a limited release on September 3 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
