Swedish Youtube star PewDiePie recently reacted to Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death by suicide. In one of his videos, the star called him a “genuinely good dude”, while speaking about the trending #UnsubscribeTSeries hashtag. He took a moment to remember the actor, and also talked about Indians calling out nepotism in the country.
The 30-year-old YouTuber said, “I have seen people talk about it and there was something about Sushant Singh Rajput. It was a university talk of this guy. He seemed like such a good dude, like a genuinely good dude. So people were pointing to nepotism in the industry and then it somehow got in clash with T-Series and that is why Unsub T-Series got trending.”
He continued, “It’s such a shame he decided to end his life. I don’t know everything about him but from what I saw he seemed a really good dude and someone the industry needs. So it’s a huge loss. Rest in peace.”
Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide in his Bandra residence earlier on June 14. The actor was suffering from depression for the past six months, according to reports. The Kai Po Che actor’s death has shocked everyone and taken the nation by storm. Debates about nepotism and discrimination against actors who do not have a connection in the Bollywood film industry. Several figures including directors Mahesh Bhatt and Karan Johar have been deemed responsible for Sushant’ s death.
The actor’s last movie, Dil Bechara, is set to release on an OTT platform on July 24. He is going to be seen opposite Sanjana Sanghi in this official remake of Hollywood movie “The Fault In Our Stars”.
PewDiePie got into an online battle with T-Series back in 2019, when the production company beat the YouTuber in terms of number of subscribers– a title he owned since 2013.
