Businessman Raj Kundra has been sent to police custody till July 27 in connection with a case relating to the alleged production and distribution of pornographic films. Mumbai Police produced the businessman before Magistrate Court on Friday and said that they suspect the money earned from pornography was being used for online betting.
“This is why transactions between Raj Kundra’s Yes bank account and United Bank of Africa account need to be investigated,” police told the court, ANI reported.

The 45-year-old was arrested on Monday and remanded to judicial custody till July 23.
“There was a case registered with the Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidences regarding this,” police commissioner Hemant Nagrale had said in a statement on late Monday night.

He has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 34 (common intention), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
Meanwhile, his wife, actor Shilpa Shetty, finally broke her silence on social media on Thursday, four days after her husband was arrested. Shilpa took to Instagram on Thursday night to share a screenshot from a book.
“Let us not look back in anger, nor forward in fear, but around in awareness. We look back in anger at the people who’ve hurt us, the frustrations we’ve felt, the bad luck we’ve endured. We look forward in fear at the possibility that we might lose our job, contract a disease, or suffer the death of a loved one,” she wrote.
