Raj Kundra‘s arrest triggered a swift investigation into his Twitter history and a nine-year-old tweet has been dug up in which the flamboyant businessman had debated “porn vs prostitution.” Kundra, who is actor Shilpa Shetty‘s husband, is accused of being a “key conspirator” in a pornography racket.

Raj Kundra had tweeted in 2012, “Ok so here go’s Porn Vs Prostitution. Why is it legal to pay someone for sex on camera? How is one different to the other?? (sic)”

The tweet went viral, seeming to cause much mirth today. One tweet said, “So #RajKundra will debate this with @MumbaiPolice now … ”

Another Raj Kundra tweet was also widely shared today. “India: Actors are playing cricket, Cricketers are playing politics, Politicians are watching porn and Porn stars are becoming actors…” he had tweeted in xxxxx.

Kundra is very active on Twitter, where he has 735.9K followers. His bio reads, “Life is about making the right choices.”

On Monday, likely hours before his arrest, Raj Kundra had tweeted, “Road blocks are temporary! Nothing can stop you!.” He hashtagged it Raj mantra and Monday motivation.”

The Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police arrested Raj Kundra late on Monday evening, saying they had “enough evidence” against him in a case related to the “creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps”. Mumbai’s police commissioner Hemant Nagrale said the arrest was linked to a case registered in February this year, in which several arrests had been made earlier.

“On that basis, the FIR was registered and the case transferred to the Crime Branch. Earlier also, we had registered cases related to pornography in which an actress and some other persons were made accused,” an official told PTI.

Kundra was taken to JJ hospital for a medical examination today.
