Raju Srivastava passed away on Wednesday, according to the comedian’s family. He was 58.

A New18 report pegs Srivastava’s net worth at around Rs 20 crore., considering the amount of time he spent in the film and entertainment industry. 

He is the owner of a Audi Q7, which retails at around Rs 82.48 lakh as well as a BMW 3 Series, which costs around Rs 46.86 lakh.

Before his heart attack, Srivastava worked on a regular basis, appearing in different reality tv shows or comedy specials. His salary was somewhere between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh a month, according to a report from Zoom.

Earlier this year on August 10 the comedian suffered a heart attack while working out at the gym. He had been on the treadmill according to The New Indian Express and had complained of chest pain. Srivastava was rushed to AIIMS Delhi by his where he was given CPR twice to restart his heart. 

The famed comedian underwent an angioplasty, a procedure to widen blocked or narrowed coronary arteries. After the surgery he was shifted to an Intense Care Unit and was kept on life support. The heart attack had caused severe brain damage.

Earlier when his heart attack was first reported, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached out to the comedian’s wife to check on his health and wish him a speedy recovery. 

The comedian was born and brought up in Kanpur and rose to fame when he performed in the Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005. He had been working in the film industry since the 1980s and has worked in films like Baazigar, Bombay To Goa, Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya and Maine Pyar Kiya. 

He is survived by his wife Shikha Srivastava in 1993. The couple had two children together, Antara and Ayushman.
