American rapper Kanye West announced on Wednesday that he will hold a third public listening session of his yet-to-be-released “Donda” album. The session will be held at the 60,000-plus-capacity Soldier Field stadium, Chicago on August 26 at 10PM ET. Tickets for the event go on sale Friday.
The event will be live-streamed on Apple Music as the album will still remain unreleased. Over the years, West has recorded, teased and even announced release dates for multiple unreleased albums over the years. Among all, “Donda” has been the one album that got public attention a lot.
According to reports, the rapper is setting up a release-date battle with Drake‘s long-awaited “Certified Lover Boy” album. This stunt of his has an impression of a release date his face-off with 50 Cent in 2007.
The album includes a fiery cameo from Jay-Z. This track made its debut at a private listening session in Las Vegas on July 17. Following this, the album received a public outing at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 22.
West then held another event at the Atlanta Stadium on August 5, where he played a different version of the album. It included several new songs, mixes and/or features – one of them was from the Weeknd.
Apart from iconic rapper Jay-Z, the album’s newer version will feature Lil Baby, Pusha T, Don Toliver, Kid Cudi, Fivio Foreign, Jhe Rooga, Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Baby Keem, Young Thug, Vory, KayCyy, Roddy Ricch, Lil Durk, 070 Shake, Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, Jay Electronica, Sheek Louch, Jadakiss, Styles P, Larry Hoover Jr, Pop Smoke, Francis and the Lights and West’s Sunday Service Choir.
The album also has quotes from his late mother, for whom the album is named, reported the Variety.
Snippets of “No Child Left Behind” and “Glory,” from his album was heard in an advertisement starring athlete Sha’carri Richardson.
