Popular Senegalese-American rapper and singer Akon, who was one of the closest friends of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has revealed that the death of his friend could have been stopped. His comments come ahead of the release of a documentary on the death of Jackson, who died on June 25, 2009, from heart failure.

In a recent interview with The Sun, Akon said the death of Jackson was inevitable. “If it happened it was a purpose of whatever God has assigned for that purpose to impact us the way it did for it to happen the way it happened,” he said.

The documentary on Michael Jackson’s death, which is named TMZ Investigates: Who Really Killed Michael Jackson, will be premiering on September 6, 2022, at 8 pm ET.

Akon also revealed that Jackson was excited to go to London to showcase his value to the world and pop. He also said that the late singer did not sleep and was taking sleeping pills because of his excitement.

The 49-year-old revealed that Jackson would be awake for weeks at a time to think about his shows. “He wanted to create something that was going to be talked about for centuries. When you have that energy you don’t sleep,” he said.

Akon worked in collaboration with Michael Jackson before the latter’s death in his album Thriller 25. Speaking about Jackson’s death from a spiritual account, Akon termed the late pop star’s death as ‘inevitable.’

However, he also maintained that anything can be prevented in reality. “Now if you’re looking at it from a reality standpoint, I think anything, in reality, can be prevented,” he said. Akon also commented on the rumours that surrounded the death of Michael Jackson, saying if those are true, the late singer should have been surrounded by people advising against it.

Michael Jackson’s former wife, Debbie Rowe, recently claimed that she did not say anything as her former employer, Dr Arnold Klein, prescribed a dangerous painkiller, Demerol, to her ex-husband. Rowe also revealed that she will always regret it and apologized for her role in it.
