It took an eternity, but Netflix has finally confirmed that Season 5 of Money Heist will premiere in September 2021. Unfortunately, they also revealed that “the heist comes to an end,” implying that season 5 would be the final chapter of the popular Spanish series.
Money Heist now holds the distinction for being Netflix‘s most-watched non-English title. The series shattered all prior marks for the fourth season yet again. The fourth part of Money Heist received an astounding 65 million views.

Álex Pina stated the following about the renewal in a statement posted to Netflix’s “See What’s Next” account (now renamed Netflix Queue): “We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel. The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.”
