Director Taika Waititi’s second bite of the Asgardian cherry, Thor: Love and Thunder, is set to start shooting in Australia this coming January, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

Numerous Marvel movies will resume the production process including Thor: Love and Thunder.

A Marvel insider claimed that the movie will have an “Avengers 5 feel” due to its huge ensemble cast.

It will feature the returning faces of Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster (who’ll become The Mighty Thor).

Director Taika Waititi has previously teased the story of the new Thor movie. “We’ve been writing the script off and on for over a year, and this week I’m doing another pass on it. It is so insane. It’s also very romantic. I’m into romances now. I just want to make a romance. I want to make something I’ve never done or never cared for. I would like to attack something like that,” said Waititi.

Back in March, it was discovered that Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale will be acting as Love and Thunder’s central villain, and this could tie into the Avengers 5 allusion. Will his character be on the same threat level as Thanos?

Waititi teased that the movie will be “very romantic”.

“I think it’s going to be really good,” said the filmmaker this summer while conversing with the BBC. “It is so insane and it’s also very romantic. I’m into romances now. I want to make romance.

Adding, “I want to make something that I’ve never done or never cared for. I would like to attack something like that.”

Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to release on February 11, 2022.
