Legendary singer Tina Turner, whose career spanned five decades, passed away at the age of 83. Her spokesperson, Bernard Doherty, confirmed her passing to CBS News on Wednesday afternoon.

Turner, who was well-known for songs like “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” won 12 Grammy Awards throughout her illustrious career.

Tina Turner, known as the “Queen of Rock’n Roll,” passed away peacefully today at the age of 83 in her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, close to Zurich, according to a news release from Doherty. “With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.” Turner will be honored at a private funeral service, he said.

Famous people from all over the world have paid their respects to the icon, with Naomi Campbell and Magic Johnson leading the heartfelt tributes.

The River Deep – Mountain High singer had recently struggled with her health, and her representatives have revealed details of her funeral arrangements as fans grieve for her. In a statement, her spokesperson revealed that only Tina’s close relatives and friends would be attending the service and that it will be a very private affair.

Tina’s representative said: “There will be a private funeral ceremony attended by close friends and family.”

Her official Instagram posted to announce the news of her death to fans. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow,” the official statement read. “Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”
