Just two weeks before his 97th birthday, legendary musician Tony Bennett died at his home in New York City. The cause of his death remains a mystery even though it is common knowledge that the singer was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s years ago.

The last ever photo ever taken of the iconic crooner shows him in a wheelchair enjoying a sunny day in the Central Park in New York City. The photo was taken weeks before he passed away. Bennett was dressed in a striped pale blue polo shirt and a navy blue sweatpants. He was wheeled around the famous Manhattan tourist destination, located just a little distance from the home where he breathed his last.

According to the witness who spoke to Daily Mail, having spotted and filmed the singer last month, Bennett went largely unnoticed by anyone at the park. His family said that just days before he died, the singer was still “singing at his piano.” The last song ever to be performed by him was Because Of You, which is his all time great hit.

“Tony left us today but he was still singing the other day at his piano and his last song was, “Because of You,” his first #1 hit,” a post on his official Facebook page said. “Tony, because of you we have your songs in our heart forever.”

In a latest update it was revealed that something called the Tony Bennett Legacy Fund has been launched after his death to continue building on his legacy.
