Finally, after years of wait, Deadpool has made his debut for the Marvel Cinematic Universe — just not in the way you’re hoping for.

After Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, Deadpool 3 was already confirmed to be a part of the MCU, however, Ryan Reynolds’ latest tryst with Disney has nothing about that.

In the most bizarre lineup for a reaction video, Captain Deadpool, played by Reynolds and Korg, one of the breakout stars of Thor: Ragnarok, teamed up to sit down and react to the trailer of the new film ‘Free Guy’ — featuring none other than Reynolds and Taika Waititi — in a made-up show called ‘Reaction Faction.’

The four-minute-long video is an absolute laughter fest as Deadpool pulls of his usual quirky punchlines and Korg, voiced by Waititi himself, is at his innocent best.

Directed by Shawn Levy, ‘Free Guy,’ stars Reynolds as Guy, a non-playable character (NPC) inside the world of a popular video game, who eventually develops free will and becomes self-aware. When his non-programmed behaviour attracts the attention of the game’s coders, he has to defend his virtual home from being cancelled by the game company’s big boss, played by Waititi.

Starring alongside the two is Jodie Comer, who Korg mistakes for Jodie Foster. Comer plays Milly, a game coder who takes on the gunslinging avatar known as MolotovGirl inside the world of the game and seemingly teams up with Guy.

Although Deadpool is excited to see Comer, he hopes that “they don’t fridge her,” later having to explain to Korg that fridging is “the process of killing off or hurting a female character in order to motivate or torture the main character, also known as Deadpool 2. Thank you for asking.”

Waititi, who directed ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, voiced Korg. This is the first time we’ve seen the alien creature since Avengers: Endgame.

The best jokes from the video, which already has over 1.3 million views, are the ones where Deadpool is taking a dig at Disney+. Seems like the fourth wall is like Cable, Deadpool loves breaking it.

Deadpool says that Korg was not his first choice, but everyone else was too busy over on the streaming service.

In another bit, Deadpool lashes out at Korg, saying “You have a Disney+ show, don’t you, f***face?”

While it’s an incredible marketing gimmick from Disney, as fans earnestly wait for ‘Deadpool 3,’ the promo should excite them about the window of possibilities when the spandex-wearing, filth-spitting superhero finally joins the MCU.
