In an Instagram video she released in August 2022, Brittany Aldean said, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase.” She then wrote a longer post in which she expressed her opposition to “sex changes” for youngsters.

While some country artists like RaeLynn and Whitney Duncan backed her up, others like Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris denounced the remarks as being transphobic. Jason Aldean has experienced backlash for the song after some felt the lyrics to be pro-gun and the images in the music video to be offensive. In response, Brittany posted a picture of herself with “Big Green Tractor” singer Jason on Instagram along with the caption, “Never apologize for speaking the truth.”

She also used her Instagram Stories to criticize the “media” and charge them with manipulating the facts to support their ‘repulsive narrative’. “Media.. it’s the same song and dance,” she wrote over a picture of a palm tree. “Twist everything you can to fit your repulsive narrative.” Brittany added, “How about instead of creating stories, we focus on the real ones such as child trafficking? Food for thought.”
