Actor James McCaffrey, known for his role in Rescue Me and as the voice of Max Payne, has passed away at 65.

James McCaffrey, the acclaimed actor from Rescue Me and the iconic voice behind Max Payne, succumbed to multiple myeloma at his Larchmont, N.Y. home on Sunday at the age of 65, as confirmed by his talent agent, David Elliott.

The actor, a protege of renowned producer Dick Wolf, gained recognition through roles such as firefighter Jimmy Keefe in Rescue Me and vigilante detective Max Payne in the eponymous video game franchise. McCaffrey’s career spanned 35 years, marked by his versatility in both television and video game landscapes.

Amidst his distinguished career, James McCaffrey shared his life with wife Rochelle Bostrom, a Canadian actress born on September 18, 1970, known for her appearances in films like The Adderall Diaries and TV shows such as Law & Order: SVU.

Residing in Larchmont, New York, the couple formed a life together, with Rochelle contributing to the entertainment industry in her own right. Her diverse roles showcased her talent, from Damages to Viper.

Tragically, McCaffrey’s battle with multiple myeloma came to an end on December 17, 2023. His representative conveyed, One of Dick Wolf’s proteges, McCaffrey went on to a successful 35-year career in television and film.
