Jay Mohr made the spotlight recently when it was announced that he and Laker’s owner Jeanie Buss recently got engaged. Buss and Mohr had been dating for several years.

Mohr, the former “Last Comic Standing” host and sports media personality, was previously married to actor Nikki Cox for 10 years before filing for divorce in 2016.

Who is Jay Mohr?

John Mohr was born on August 23, 1970. He was born in Verona, New Jersey to Iva Jean, a nurse, and Jon Wood Mohr, a marketing executive. Mohr is an American actor, comedian and radio host.

He is well-known for his roles as the scheming sports agent Bob Sugar in Jerry Maguire and the film producer Peter Dragon in the TV comedy series Action. He also played Professor Rick Payne in the TV series Ghost Whisperer from 2006 to 2008 and the title role in the CBS sitcom Gary Unmarried from 2008 to 2010.

For the Saturday Night Live seasons of 1993–1994 and 1994–1995, he has appeared as a featured player. This turbulent time in his life is described in his memoir, Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live, along with his struggle with recurrent panic attacks. He later claimed that Sarah Silverman, his co-star on Saturday Night Live, had helped him treat the issue and saved his life.

Mohr has been the anchor of the weekday midday sports radio talk show Jay Mohr Sports on Fox Sports Radio since September 2015 in addition to hosting his own podcast, Mohr Stories, on the SModcast Network. In order to pursue acting endeavours, Mohr left Fox Sports Radio in January 2016. As the first host and executive producer of Last Comic Standing, he received a Primetime Emmy nomination.

Mohr has made contributions to The Jim Rome Show and frequently served as a guest host. Additionally, Mohr frequently makes “drive-by” call-ins to the show to advertise one of his stand-up performances or live events.

At the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, Mohr’s album Happy. And A Lot was up for the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. His wife at the time, Nikki Cox, wrote the content. Since 2013, Mohr has hosted the NASCAR Cup Series Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas.

Mohr recently got engaged with Los Angeles Lakers controlling owner and President Jeanie Buss after dating her for several years.
