Canadian actress Samantha Weinstein passed away at the age of 28 on May 14 as confirmed by his father David Weinstein on Thursday. She died of ovarian cancer at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada.

Samantha was well known for her role in the remake of “Carrie” in 2013. She also voiced several cartoon characters. She married Michael Knutson in 2022.

What is Michael Knutson?

Michael Knutson was Samantha’s long-term boyfriend. Last year on October 29, 2022, the 28-year-old decided to marry Michael Knutson, whom she affectionately referred to as Mike. She announced her wedding to her “best friend, a partner in crime, and the love of her life” on the best day of her life. 

Samantha’s father condoled the tragic news of her death in a statement, saying “We’re overwhelmed with the outpouring of tributes to Samantha,” he said. “She led a very full, charmed and authentic life. She was very passionate about her art and worked up until her last days voicing animated characters and living as full a life as she possibly could”.

He also made a  post which reads, “After two and a half years of cancer treatment, and a lifetime of jet setting around the world, voicing a plethora of cartoon animals, making music, and knowing more about life than most people ever will, she is off on her next adventure”.

The actress was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 25 and fought hard with it. She believed in living life to the fullest. Weinstein identified herself as “bisexual/pansexual” and non-binary, and her parents and husband accepted her, as written in her article “Love What Matters”.
