Priyanshu Painyuli recently appeared in Akash Khurrana’s ‘Rashmi Rocket’, his performance as Taapsee Pannu’s onscreen husband Captain Gagan is getting appreciation from audiences as well as film critics. Priyanshu has played the army officer with utmost sincerity and charm.

Who is Priyanshu Painyuli?

Priyanshu Painyuli is an Indian model, actor, director, and writer who is known for work in the web series Bang Baaja Baarat (2015), and Mirzapur 2 (2020), and films Bhavesh Joshi Superhero (2018), and Extraction (2020).

Personal Life

Priyanshu Painyuli was born on Monday, August 29, 1988. He hails from Bangalore, India. 

He completed his schooling at Army Public School Bangalore and he did his graduation from SAE College, Bangalore. His father Vinod Kumar Pailyuli is a retired Indian Army Colonel.

In 2010, Priyanshu shifted from Bangalore to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. 

After dating actor Vandana Joshi for a while, he got married to her on November 26, 2020, in Dehradun.

Career

Priyanshu started his acting career as a theatre artist and performed in various plays.

After theatre, he acted in some short films like Bawdi (2012), Love at First Sight (2017), A Monsoon Date (2018), and Line of Duty (2019). 

In 2015, Priyanshu made his digital debut with ‘Bang Baaja Baraat’ as Wasim Shaikh. Later, he appeared in the series Welcome to Mahabaleshwar (2016) and Soulmates (2019).

He worked as an Assistant Director for Dharma Productions and started his acting career with ‘Love at First Sight’ by Manuja Tyagi. Then, he appeared in Rock On 2 as Jiah’s brother.

In 2018, he appeared in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Bhavesh Joshi Superhero in which he played the role of Bhavesh Joshi. He also worked in movies such as High Jack, Once Again, and Netflix’s Upstarts.

Priyanshu Painyuli gained immense popularity with his portrayal of Robin Aggarwal in Amazon Prime’s crime action
series Mirzapur 2.

Recently he played the role of a Bangladeshi crime lord Amir Asif in
Netflix’s original movie “Extraction” with Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth.

Priyanshu says that Extraction changed his career and people are taking him more seriously. Now he is looking at more international stuff after Extraction.
