Denise Russo who gained fame from VH1’s reality show, The X-Life has died at the age of 44 after she was found unresponsive Sunday on the floor of a friend’s home in San Diego.

According to TMZ, drug paraphernalia was found at the scene. Attempts to resuscitate her by the first responders went in vain and she eventually was pronounced dead. The cause of death is still pending, and San Diego police are currently investigating.

Who was Denise Russo?

Not much is known about Russo except that she was part of one of the three couples on VH1’s reality show, The X-Life which aired in 2011. It followed the lives of extreme sports athletes and their partners. At the time Russo was dating professional skateboarder Pierre-Luc Gagnon. They had a son together but have since broken up.

She has an Instagram page where she posted pictures of herself and her son. She was one of the candidates competing to be on the cover of Inked Magazine and in one of her posts she wrote, “Hugs and kisses! Please remember to vote on the February 6th at 12pm Est for me as the next Inked Cover Girl! The link is in my bio! Thanks and lots of love to all of you!”

Susie Stenberg, Russo’s friend, and former The X-Life castmate told TMZ after Russo’s death that the latter was homeless and living in her car at the time of her death. Russo reached out to her just the night before to tell her she loved her. Stenberg added that Russo was “the most loving and loyal person.”
