The hip-hop community has been struck by a tragic loss with the death of Anthony ‘Big Jook’ Mims, brother of the renowned rapper Yo Gotti. Big Jook was fatally shot near Perignons Restaurant & Event Centre in Memphis, Tennessee.

The incident, which occurred on the afternoon of January 13, left another victim critically injured. Memphis police responded to gunfire reports around 4:15 pm, where they discovered the two men shot. Big Jook was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital, while the second victim was in critical condition​​​​.

Anthony ‘Big Jook’ Mims was more than just Yo Gotti’s brother; he was a significant figure within the hip-hop community, particularly in Memphis. Working primarily on the business side, Big Jook played an essential role in promoting artists under the label.
