Mirzapur premiered on Amazon Prime in November 2018 and since then, the fans have been asking only one question: When will the season 2 of the crime-thriller web series be released?

Giving a rest to people’s anticipation, the Amazon Prime Video on Monday answered the question and announced the release date of Mirzapur season 2, with a short teaser: The date is October 23, 2020.

Sharing the release announcement on Twitter, show producer Ritesh Sidwani said, “Mirzapur me aapka swagat hai [Welcome to Mirzapur].”

The first season of the web series ended with a scene that showed many lead characters being shot dead by the villain of show Munna Tripathi, played by Divyendu Sharma leaving netizens abuzz with what’s next?

The cast of the series recently finished dubbing for the second season last month, Fazal posted a picture of the cast dubbing for the season from the studio on July 12.

The second season, apart from Divyendu Sharma, will feature Pankaj Tripathi as Akandha Tripathi, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, Shweta Tripathi as Gajgamini Gupta aka Golu Gupta, Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi. The sequel of the show will also feature Vijay Varma, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Isha Talwar.

The show depicts a story around mafia dons ruling the Mirzapur city of Uttar Pradesh, lawlessly, alongside the business of drugs, guns.
