A suspicious device, which was later identified as a video game console, prompted the evacuation of a terminal at Logan Airport in Boston on Sunday evening.

Here’s what transpired – 

1. Around 4.05 pm on Sunday, TSA agents called the State Police Bomb Squad to Terminal A of Logan Airport after a potentially suspicious item was found in a checked bag for a Delta flight.

2. Terminal A was evacuated while the authorities investigated. The passengers were brought out onto the sidewalk as a precaution.

3. Following an investigation, the bomb squad concluded that the item was a PlayStation video game console, which was in a poor condition.

4. Police said the degraded condition of the console caused abnormalities in the image it produced when it was being screened.

4. Around 5pm, authorities gave an all-clear and passengers were able to re-enter Terminal A. 

“I had a 6 p.m. flight and I was just getting to the airport. When I got out of the car, a bunch of people ran out screaming, so I got back in the car. I didn’t hear what they were screaming about,” a passenger, Pam Lovano, told WVCB.

“Then we drove around the terminals again. By the time we got back, Terminal A had been closed by the cops and I could see the people standing outside.”

5. Videos and photos from the terminal that surfaced online showed large crowds on the sidewalk by the Terminal as multiple state police cruisers responded to the scene. 

6. A Delta Air Lines spokesperson said the airline is holding flights for as long as possible and will accommodate and re-book passengers if necessary.
