Social media giant Twitter has suspended Representative Marjorie Taylor-Greene‘s account for a week following her tweet regarding COVID vaccines, media reports in the US said.

Greene had tweeted on Monday that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) “should not approve the COVID vaccines.” And she did not stop there. Greene also went on to claim that the vaccines were “failing” and that they were ineffective at reducing the virus’s spread, CNN reported.

In response to her tweet, the social media platform labeled it as misleading and prevented the Republican member of the US House of Representatives from tweeting for one week.

“The tweet was labeled in line with our COVID-19 misleading information policy. The account will be in read-only mode for a week due to repeated violations of the Twitter Rules,” CNN quoted a Twitter spokesperson as saying.

It is not the first time that Greene has been suspended from the platform. Back in January, she was suspended for 12 hours from Twitter for sharing conspiracy theories about the Georgia Senate runoff elections, a move that the social media giant said violated its civic integrity policy, CNN reported.  Then in July, she was again suspended for 12 hours, only this time for sharing misinformation about COVID-19 and vaccines.

According to the COVID-19 misinformation policy on Twitter, a user’s account can receive a one-week suspension if it violates that policy four times. Violating the COVID-19 policy five or more times can result in a permanent ban.
