After India crossed the grim milestone of one crore coronavirus cases on Saturday, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said of that 10 million cases, “95 lakh 50 thousand cases have recovered successfully.” 

Vardhan added, “India has one of the highest recovery rates in the world at 95.46%,” reports ANI. 

The COVID-19 tally of the country touched 10,004,599 on Saturday after 25,152 new cases of coronavirus were recorded on Friday. The death toll from coronavirus in India has now climbed to 145,136 after 347 persons died on Friday. 

“Our scientists and health experts have worked on the development of a vaccine by genome sequencing and isolation of the coronavirus and developed an indigenous vaccine,” Vardhan said. 

India will have the capacity to inoculate around 30 crore people in six to seven months, Vardhan added. 

India reported its first COVID-19 case on January 30 and has now emerged as the second-worst hit nation by the coronavirus.
