Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was hospitalised on Thursday after testing positive for COVID-19. He is the sixth central minister to be infected by COVID-19.

Informing that he tested coronavirus positive, Shekhawat wrote on Twitter, ” On getting some symptoms, I got the corona test done and my report came back positive. I am hospitalized on the advice of doctors.”

He also requested those who have come in contact with him in the past few days, to isolate themselves and get examined.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah was discharged from the hospital last week after testing negative. However, he was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) again earlier this week after complaining of fatigue.

“Amit Shah has been complaining of fatigue and body aches for the last 3-4 days. He has tested negative for Covid 19. He has been admitted to AIIMS for post COVID care,” a statement released by the AIIMS said.
