Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google CEO Sundar Pichai pledged support to India amid its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. This comes amid a lethal second wave of COVID-19 in India, as the nation is recording over 300,000 cases of coronavirus daily for the last few days. On Sunday, India recorded 352,991 cases of COVID-19 and 2,812 deaths, the biggest worldwide daily spike ever.
Indian-American Satya Nadella in a tweet said he is “grateful” that the US government has assured help to India amid the health crisis. He said, “I am heartbroken by the current situation in India. I’m grateful the U.S. government is mobilizing to help. Microsoft will continue to use its voice, resources, and technology to aid relief efforts, and support the purchase of critical oxygen concentration devices.”

Google CEO Sundar Pichai on Monday said he is “devastated” to see the worsening COVID-19 crisis in India.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “Devastated to see the worsening Covid crisis in India. Google & Googlers are providing Rs 135 Crore in funding to Give India, UNICEF for medical supplies, organisations supporting high-risk communities, and grants to help spread critical information.”

India is battling a major surge in coronavirus cases with infections rising each day as several hospitals across the nation are frequently running out of medical oxygen, beds, and other medical requirements needed for the COVID-19 patients.
Amid the crisis, several nations, including Pakistan, China, France and the United States and the UK, have come forward to support India in its battle against the pandemic.

US President Joe Biden on Sunday in a tweet said, “Just as India sent assistance to the United States as our hospitals were strained early in the pandemic, we are determined to help India in its time of need.”
The United Kingdom has also said that it will send life-saving medical equipment to India – including ventilators and oxygen concentrators.
