First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, on Saturday revealed a newly renovated White House Rose Garden, which will play an important role during her Republican National Convention speech.

The First Lady will be delivering her address on Tuesday from the rose garden, known for its close proximity to the Oval Office.

The renovation took three weeks to be completed, before it was revealed to the public. This is the first time the venue has gone under reconstruction in nearly 60 years. The White House relic was constructed during John F. Kennedy’s presidency.

Melania Trump shared several photos of the garden on Twitter. “Excited to honor history & celebrate the future in our beautiful @WhiteHouse Rose Garden this evening. Thank you to all who helped renew this iconic & truly gorgeous space,” she wrote.

According to media reports, the renovation was funded by private donations. The White House is yet to announce anything regarding the cost of it.

However, since its unveiling, Melania Trump has been facing backlash for reconstructing something that is associated with the White House’s legacy. People on social media platforms have been complaining about how she changed the colourful roses of the garden to a pastel ones, and cutting out much of the foliage.
