The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Sunday decided that 300 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) companies will be initially sent to Bihar for area domination to ensure peaceful conduct of polls, news agency ANI reported.

According to the ministry, the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Border Security Force (BSF) companies of troops will be reaching Bihar soon. 

The upcoming Bihar polls are the first election to be held amid the coronavirus pandemic in India. It will be held in three phases, starting from October 28.

The Election Commission said on Friday that door-to-door campaigns for elections will be subject to restrictions. Five persons, including the candidate and two persons accompanying him, will be allowed to conduct this type of campaigning. Only virtual campaigns will be allowed during the elections.

According to the Election Commission, 7 lakh hand sanitizers, 46 lakh masks, 6 lakh PPE kits, 6.7 lakh face shields and 23 lakh pairs of hand gloves have been arranged for Bihar polls.
