The Indian cricket team will play the final ODI against the West Indies on July 27 at the Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Both the 1st and the 2nd ODIs had close finishes and produced results in the last over and it is expected that the 3rd ODI will be the same.

West Indies have lost the series, but they still have a lot of good things to build on from the previous two contests. For starters, their batting unit performed well against the Indian bowling lineup. Against an Indian batting lineup that still appears powerful even without some of the top names, their bowling attack has also displayed some impressive moments in spots. To end the series and end their losing streak, which has now gone on for eight games, skipper Nicholas Pooran would desire nothing more than a victory right now.
Even though the series is already secured from an Indian standpoint, the visitors are not anticipated to make significant alterations in this situation. Against this backdrop, head coach Rahul Dravid might be tempted to try out some of his reserve players but he will have to maintain a fine balance between keeping the momentum and testing his bench strength.

In the batting department, it is unlikely that Ruturaj Gaikwad would be preferred over Shubman Gill, who after two innings of 64 and 43 would not like to sit out. On the other hand, Gaikwad had got a full South Africa series where he looked distinctly uncomfortable against quality pace. For the most part, everything has gone smoothly, although India may still need to work on their batting during the middle overs. In the second ODI, India scored 170 runs but also lost five wickets from overs 11 to 40. They achieved 175 for 4 in the same phase during the first game. It is still not certain whether Ravindra Jadeja will be available for the final game as Axar Patel after his match-winning knock of 64 in the second game could feel hard done by.
