In the Harsidhi (SC) Lok Sabha constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Krishnanandan Paswan won the 2020 election by a margin of 15,685 votes.

Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) Rajendra Kumar, who defeated Paswan by a margin of 10,267 votes in 2015, is the sitting MLA.

Paswan won the 2010 election and was
preceded by the Lok Janshakti Party’s (LJP) Awadhesh Prasad Kushwaha and Maheshwar
Singh, who won the February and October 2005 elections respectively. Singh had
previously won the seat in the 2000 assembly election for the Samata
Party. 

The Harsidhi constituency is reserved for
Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates.

As per orders of
Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies Order, 2008, the
constituency is composed of the Harsidhi and Turkaulia community development
blocks.
