Bharatiya Janata Party leader Suvendu Adhikari’s brother and former TMC leader, Soumendu Adhikari, joined BJP on Friday, reported ANI.

Soumendu Adhikari was the former Chairperson of Contai Municipality and was removed from his position by the West Bengal Government on Wednesday.

The confirmation comes hours after Suvendu said his disgruntled brother, who was previously a part of TMC will join the saffron party along with 5,000 other revolutionary members of the West Bengal’s ruling party.

“We will win this battle. A new government will be formed that will move forward with Narendra Modi’s ideals and promise to make the state.” said Sonar Bangla BJP leader, Suvendu Adhikari  during a rally at Contai Dormitory ground.
