A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death by four men
at a birthday party in Delhi’s Mangolpuri area, PTI reported the police as
saying. The deceased has been identified as Rinku Singh, and he reportedly got
into a scuffle with the four accused on Wednesday night, who later went into his
house and stabbed him with a knife. The accused have been identified as Zahid,
Mehtab, Danish and Islam, who were arrested on Thursday by the police, PTI
further stated.

The victim died on Thursday in a city hospital.

“We are in touch with the victim’s family. So far
investigation has revealed that the incident started with a fight but we are
also probing other angles,” news agency ANI quoted Delhi Police DCP Chinmoy
Biswal as saying on Friday.

Reportedly, the victim and the accused had an
argument over the shutting down of their eatery business in the city and
related economical losses.

The two parties are stated to have been involved in
a similar feud on the same issue some time back as well, which seemingly escalated
on Thursday, as when the accused reached Sharma’s house on Wednesday, he was
already standing there alongside his brother, wielding sticks.

The following struggle ended with Sharma being
stabbed, after which the accused fled the spot.

According to media reports, Sharma was a member of
the Bajrang Dal, a right-wing group affiliated to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP),
which alleged that he was killed due to collecting donations for the Ram temple
going to be built in Ayodhya.
