In an unfortunate incident in Himachal Pradesh, an elderly man’s body was recovered two days after he went missing. Police said the man froze to death as the state recorded sub-zero conditions in several areas, ANI reported.
The 60-year-old man, whose identity was not revealed, left his home on February 3. When he did not return, his family members went out in search of him. The man was found frozen to death in Kullu district on Friday.
The police took custody of the man’s body and it will be returned to the family after post-mortem, ANI reported.
Several districts in the state received snowfall on Thursday following which the temperatures dropped by several notches.
Shimla Met Centre Director Manmohan Singh said on Saturday that Keylong was the coldest place in Himachal Pradesh at minus 13.7 degrees Celsius while minimum temperatures in Kufri and Manali were minus 0.7 and 2.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.
