Jeremy Renner has been severely injured in an accident while plowing snow alone on the weekend which left him in “critically ill but stable condition,” his family said on Sunday. The Hawkeye actor is receiving excellent care after he was airlifted to the hospital following the accident. 

“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today. His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care,” reported Hollywood Reporter quoting the actor’s representative.

The 51-year-old actor is a two-time Academy Awards nominee over his acting career, for his performances in The Hurt Locker and The Town. He is popular for his famous portrayal of the superhero Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye, in Marvel films, and for his role in the Mission Impossible film franchise.

Renner has a ranch above Lake Tahoe in the Washoe County, Sierra Nevada mountains, where he resides for several years. The region home to the actor was hit by a heavy winter storm on New Year’s Eve that impacted the power supply to over 35,000 homes losing power. The storm was called the “blizzard of the century” witnessed by much of the US over the past week killing at least 60 people countrywide.

Renner owns a number of snow plows and uses them to clear his long private driveway as well as roads and paths in his area. 

Renner while sharing a photo of the huge snow at his US ranch in a Twitter post wrote, “Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke,” on December 13, 2022. He also posted several videos of himself behind the wheel of a snow plow and wrote on one, “Nearly done with sledding hill for the kids.”

The American actor is currently appearing in Paramount’s The Mayor of Kingston. The show’s second season is also set to air in two weeks.
