The ongoing farmers’ protest against the Centre’s three farm laws has entered day 74 on Sunday. The protesting farmers held a three-hour-long countrywide road blockade on Saturday, with several protestors were detained in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Several farmer union leaders spoke about the protests during the blockade. Bharatiya Kisan Union Spokesperson Rakesh Tikait gave the government to October 2 to repeal the farm laws, following which the farmers would make further decisions and planning. According to ANI, internet services remained suspended in Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri borders, and their adjoining areas till 11.59 pm on Saturday “in the interest of maintaining public safety and averting public emergency.”
