The seventh
edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) is upon us and Kerala Blasters will
kick off the tournament opener against newcomers ATK Mohun Bagan FC on November 20.

All
fixtures of the 20-21 season will be played behind closed doors in three venues
in Goa, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda – home of FC Goa – the GMC
Athletic Stadium in Bambolin and the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco.

The league
stage of the tournament will be played from November to February, with all
fixtures scheduled to kick off at 7:30 pm IST. All double headers will be
played on Sundays, with the early fixture scheduled for 5 pm IST.   

The
introduction of ATK Mohun Bagan, a merger between three-time ISL winners ATK Football
Club and Indian football powerhouse Mohun Bagan, and SC East Bengal has
expanded the league to 11 teams.

As a
result, there will be a total of 115 matches this season, 20 more than the
19-20 season. The schedule for the first 11 rounds of fixtures have been
confirmed so far, with the remaining to be announced next month after the dates
of the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup are confirmed.

FC Goa have
qualified for the AFC Champions group stage, by virtue of their top-placed
finish in the ISL league stage last season.

Winners of the ‘League Winner Shield’, introduced in the 2019-20
season for the team that wins the league stage, FC Goa will start their campaign against Bengaluru FC on November 22.

The season’s first Kolkata derby, between ATK Mohun Bagan and East Bengal will be played on November 27.
